How do I clean my stovetop?
Cleaning and caring for your range can be easy with regular maintenance and the use of approved cookware and cleaners.
GE suggests using Cerama Bryte products to clean your cooktop surface. Wipe the cooktop, once it has cooled, after every use. For stubborn spots of burnt food, apply a small amount of Cerama Bryte directly on the burned area, rub with a cleaning pad or paper towel.
You may need to use a single edge razor blade scraper to gently remove tough residue. Hold the scraper at a 45 degree angle and make sure it is not dull or nicked to avoid damage to the cooktop surface.
Note: Choosing the right cookware can help you keep your stovetop looking new and damage free. Stainless Steel is recommended. Avoid cookware that is glass-ceramic, porcelain, enamel on steel, stoneware or cast iron, as these may damage the surface.
Caution: Don't slide pots and pans on the surface and don't place wet pans on a hot surface.
