What is the best time to water grass?

In Texas, it is recommended to water before 10 am, but earlier in the morning is best.

By watering grass and plants before 10 am you can save water and maintain plant health.

It is not recommended to water in the afternoon as heat from the sun will cause an increase in water loss due to evaporation.

However, watering in the evening is also not recommended to avoid your lawn and plants from becoming susceptible to diseases.

Programming your irrigation system is a great way to set an efficient watering schedule and also helps to prevent over-watering.

Tip: To encourage strong roots: water deeply, not frequently (about 1 inch, once a week for established lawns).
